Picnic Details
When: 08:00-21:00 on 19 September
Where: We will meet at Palau Reial, carrer de John Maynard Keynes, 1
Distance from Barcelona: 90 min
The price includes: Transportation, guided waterfall hike, a delicious picnic, trail snacks and beverages.
How many people will join? 12 people max.
Registration is open until: 15 September @ 22:00
Difficulty level: Intermediate. 12km. 800m elevation gain. Includes some shallow river crossings that require sure footing and good balance.
Menu
Sushi: Butternut squash and coconut spicy sauce rolls / Teriyaki tofu, red pepper and carrots / Sweet potato, kale and beetroot rolls / With mayonnaise and soy sauce
Main: Miso Ramen, with mushrooms, pickled kohlrabi, marinated tofu, red pepper, sesame oil, rice noodle, kale and kombu (vegan option)
Snack, coffee & tea: Energy bars with hot coffee and oat milk chai tea
Refreshments: Strawberry lemonade
Dessert: Vegan peanut butter and chocolate cookies
Important info
What to bring: It’s important you bring at least 1L of water and comfortable hiking shoes/sandals that you don’t mind getting wet. Do not bother with waterproof footwear, instead bring something that will dry quickly. Optional: sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, hiking poles, mosquito repellent, and a waterproof jacket just-in-case.
How to get to the meeting point: We will meet at Palau Reial at 8:00 am. There are many ways to reach this point by public transportation. The most obvious would be the Metro green line, L3. You can also take a bus straight through Diagonal. If you plan to take a Renfe train as part of your trip, we recommend that you plan to arrive ~20 minutes earlier because they are not as reliable. Ask google for public transport directions from wherever you are staying, and if you have any doubts please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help you. Other options include taxi, bicing, electric scooter…and, of course, walking.
About Covid-19: Your health and safety is really important to us, so we take all of the recommended precautions. We also require that everyone brings a mask and wears it at all times during travel to and from the trail. Fortunately we will be spending most of the day in natural open spaces, which is really the best place to be right now, and where masks are unnecessary. All of the food is prepared in a kitchen that follows current protocol, and we will serve the picnic accordingly. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you have about this. We take this pandemic very seriously and want you to feel safe and comfortable.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel 72 hours before the picnic begins we will issue you a 50% refund. There are no refunds if you cancel less than 72 hours before the picnic. Kickass Picnics may have to cancel the picnic due to Covid-19 restrictions, weather forecasts or other external factors. We don't like cancelling picnics, but sometimes it's necessary. In this case we will offer you the choice of a full refund or a new picnic date. Kickass Picnics may also decide to change to a similar location in order to avoid risky weather.
